EAACI Congress 2018, Munich Germany

26 - 30 May 2018

LOW DERMA™ team creates the Technology awareness at the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) Congress 2018, which is organized by EAACI, the largest medical association in the field of allergy and clinical immunology. Many allergy field experts approached our team to understand more about the LOW DERMA™ glove Technology as we are the only glove technology that addresses glove-induced allergy. At the show, the question “Is Accelerator-Free Glove Really Free of Chemical Accelerators?” has triggered the concern of many experts. Our team advised the allergy experts to ask relevant questions and be satisfied with the answers before qualifying a glove product or recommending an Allergy Care glove product to sensitised glove users. The importance of clinical testing such as Modified Draize-95 to prove credibility of the claim was also part of the awareness measures.

Many experts that visited the booth indicated chemical accelerators such as Thiuram and Carbamate-mix are the most common cause of hand hypersensitivity. More than 70% of the sensitised-patients are given topical treatment to solve the issue followed by about 60% are advised to change the current gloves to other brand or material. However, topical treatment will only be a temporary relief if they are still expose to the allergens at work and even the change of material may not necessary eliminate the presence of chemical accelerators in the glove materials. Hence, the Technology, without added chemical accelerators may be the only solution to address the potential of dermatitis.
